Paul Devro & the Dom
Born and bred in Port Alberni, Canada, Paul Devro made his first turntables from a cardboard box and old yogurt containers aged nine, his future career path clear in mind. After getting to know the now globally renowned producer, DJ and music tastemaker Diplo through the Internet, the two started a fruitful collaboration that has continued to this day. Now creative director and artist at Diplo's Mad Decent label, Devro regularly brings his weird brand of highly danceable music to dancefloors worldwide.
Named after Generic Surplus' local bistro Little Doms on Hillhurst Ave., Los Feliz, the Dom has sophisticated yet street-smart footwear design down to an art. Sporting an original Vibram sole, this shoe also features off white/grey welt stitching and a heavy gauge stitch detail, and arrives with black or military canvas, green suede/canvas and charcoal grey wool uppers.
Hanging out at Dominicks in West Hollywood wearing the Dom, Paul Devro here dishes on making the perfect loop, his love/hate relationship with contemporary music and the step-by-step construction of his first DIY DJ kit.
